Spice Racks, Pantry Lists and Inventories

Pantry Lists and Inventories

I've been surfing the web again, looking this time for ideas for a spice rack in my kitchen.  I have spice jars everywhere and I spend so much time looking for the same ones over and over again.

I have decided that I will make my own and that I will use sawn timber to make a kind of U shape with end caps and I will have to screw it to the wall above the cooker.

I know, I know, Heat and Light are the enemy of spices but what is a girl to do ?

Another thing I have found that interested me is a blog by 'granny miller'.

Its entitled

A Journal Of Agrarian Life & Skills

in this post she explains about how she shops for the year between the months of June and October and stores the fresh produce from her garden.  She started her inventory by religiously noting down EVERY item that she used for one year and then every year she looks and sees what she has left over before making another list for next years food.

I wish I was this organised, and I had enough space for this!  Maybe I will start making a note of the things we use and the things I buy starting from January 1st and then I can get a good idea of what we like to eat.

Have you ever done anything like this?  what is your shopping system?  Let me know in the comments section below.

Feeling rough!

You know something is wrong when you wake up feeling more tired than when you went to bed.

That is exactly what has happened to me this morning, my eyes are puffy, head sore and I generally can't be bothered to do anything...even looking at prepper and lds sites feels like such a chore today.

I was going to update you on todays preps but I don't think there will be any, if I can't find the energy to surf the web how am I going to find the will to move from the chair?

Washing to be done, clothes drying left over from last night, kitchen needs a deep clean and I can't tell you what the preparedLDSfamily are looking to store this week.

maybe I will feel more up to it tomorrow.
