My plans for today? I hear you ask
- Trying to get an appointment at the vets so the kittens can be done, cleaning cat spray from the kitchen,
- Buying onesies for Fridays pyjama day at school for children in need and
- Looking after the youngest (NJ).
Smoking
Giving up smoking, day 9, patch on and fake fag in mouth (don't worry I have seen the smoking nurse and she prescribed both).
Blogs
I love reading a blog called "A Slob Comes Clean" and Nony has been the inspiration for a lot of how I am adjusting my cleaning routine, I may just link to her from time to time and NO i am not being paid for it i just love what she says and does and at the moment we have baited breath wondering who her visitor 'Paula' is.
Yesterday thanks to Pinterest I found a brilliant new blog called 'The Nest'. Its by a blogger named Emily who lives in Ireland, she crafts, paints, bakes and just reading her advent posts I think I have fallen in love with her.
Kids
LJ at school, TJ at school and NJ round my feet for most of today, the joys of motherhood are abundant in this house!
LJ and TJ are needing outfits for Fridays Children In Need Pyjama Day, one whole round pound each to wear pyjamas to school, I shouldn't bother buying new, just don't get them dressed in the morning, in reality I don't think the school will think that so shrewd. .I took my friend B along as her daughter M is in TJ's class.
Me, B and NJ all hoped in the car and off we went on our merry way, to the insane asylum which is Asda.
We had a great time and came away with more than 2 onesies, we had such a good time we nearly got back late to pick the kids up from school! But don't they look good in them ...

Cleaning
I have the unenviable job of cleaning the kitchen, as long as hubby dearest does the washing up we may both be happy. The boy kitten is spraying and trying to (as LJ puts it) "do" the girl kitten.
I just realised I never introduced them to you... well here they are
Tomorrow is Thursday which means clothes and bedding need washing. Hopefully, I will be able to run the washing machine and tumble dryer all day. Oh yeah, and we all have the dentist after school.

I tried to crop out the mess but blogger wouldn't see the edited picture
The one on the left with with all black face and white whiskers is Dinotime (named by TJ), Dino for short, and the black and white faced kitten is Soxey (named by LJ). They are the newest members of our family at just over 4 months old.
OH didn't wash up, so I had to :( . And now Grandma D is here and we are delousing our hair AGAIN! I have spent so much money on shop bought, branded products to help clear them that i have decided on a healthier more environmentally friendly alternative which I found in this book.
The ingredients are 75ml vegetable oil (normal cooking veg oil will do) and 25 drops each Rosemary, Lavender and Tea Tree or eucalyptus essential oils
The method is
- 1) Apply to wet hair (whoops we just slopped it onto dry hair), massage well to get to the scalp so you cover the roots well. Make sure you pay attention to the ear and nape of neck areas, this is where they like to breed.
- 2) Leave for roughly an hour.
- 3) Shampoo thoroughly.
- 4) Remove the eggs (nits) with a fine-toothed regulation nit comb. I like the NitFree from Nitty Gritty- the best thing about these combs (other than being utterly fantastic egg and lice removers) is that they come with a lifetime guarantee so should the worst happen and they get broken or a tooth falls out,you just return it to them in an envelope with you address and they send you a new one by return post! No I have not been paid for either of these reviews (lol I wish I was).
